The staff was so friendly, helpful, and open. They were willing to answer any questions we had. When we asked for interesting places to see, they told us where to go and how to get there. Or if you have a specific place in mind, just ask them and they will volunteer the cheapest way to get there. Breakfast was great everyday. Consisted of toasted bread, homus, falafel, fresh cut tomato, bell peppers, cheddar cheese, butter, sour cream, omelette or scrambled eggs, cereal, fruit juice, coffea and tea. Walking distance to the Old City.
The location is great, a 5-7 minute walk to Damascus Gate of the Old City & in an interesting Palestinian neighborhood. Excellent Palestinian bookstore a couple doors to the left of the hotel. Nearby is the Palestinian National Theater (a vibrant yet cozy theater with a great manager who speaks English.) Buffet breakfast was wonderful (pancakes, French toast), along with choices of meats & fruits (great for kids). Rooms were simple but very clean. Front desk staff speak English well and were really helpful (with directions, estimates on what cabs should cost, recommendations for concerts, etc.). Many interesting guests to talk to at breakfast. Shops in this area (before the old city) are plentiful & reasonably price. Internet in lobby.
good service with a good location, the staffs are very friendly
Old, dirt hotel situated in the heart of Arabic quarter.
The staff is absolutely wonderful, very accomdating, helpful, and all-around hospitable. The location is great for exploring the Old City/Mount of Olives region. The downstairs restaurant serves excellent food and our balcony room was nice for a relaxing evening coffee. Overall, I really miss this place... we were made to feel like family.
The carpet could be a bit cleaner, but otherwise, no complaints at all.
central, a nice view, staff reacted to many inquiries
Room was old and worn out, carpet was dirty and not vacuumed properly. Toilet was loose and not bolted to floor. Shower was not functioning and had to be repaired. Room needs to be painted and fixed. Air con old, noisy and conditionally functioning. Internet not functioning the last three days!!!! Breakfast was poor. Photos on website must have been old.
Breakfast buffet is really good. Staff really helpful
air conditioner would not be on until 6pm, by that time it's alreay cool
Good Location! Staff very helpful and free wifi in the lobby area.
Staff were great, perfect location for exploring Jerusalem, reasonable price and good value
Absolutely I like it's location - 5 min walk from Herod's gate. Cosy reception area, hall, tasty breakfasts, friendly staff, clean bathrooms, everyday cleaning of the room. I recommend this hotel for people who want to travel through the Jerusalem city and to be close to the Old city attractions and not to spend a lot of money for rooms.
The rooms were rather comfortable, but as we were travelling in the end of December, the temperature inside the room was very cold, there is no heating at all, so if you are travelling in winter months, better take with you some heater. Although there were some blankets to get warm while sleeping.
The best in this hotel is its location - it is really take only 10 minutes walk to reach Old Town. As for hotel location in Muslim district, it wasn't problem at all, we felt safe and comfortable even in the evenings.
The rooms have very old equipment and furniture (but WC was clean and more modern).
Very friendly and helpful staff, good location next to the old city.
Rooms need renovation and have very thin walls (you could hear neighbours in the bathroom).
The staff is very friendly and helpful. The room is quite big - in spite of reserving double room we got room for 3 people with two rooms separated with the curtain. Location is very convenient - if your goal is just visiting old city it's even perfect, as it's in 5-7 minutes walk to the main enter - Damask gates. The lobby is very nice - it is decorated in oriental style. And if you want to drink tea/coofee in the room (there are cups in the room) it's possible to as at the reception and they give a kettle with hot water.
It's very cold in the room! If you are travelling in autumn/winter be ready to be frozen, even the second blanket didn't rescue at nights. The conditoner worked on warmth only in the evening. And there are no any other radiators in the room. The room wasn't very clean - we even found someone's hairs on the pillow. But there are no any problems with hot water - no any restrictions and limits and it runs hot all the time. The breakfast was quite poor - just omlet, sausages, cheese, bred, jam, halva and that's all......but in general I'd say it's rather good value of money if you are staying just 1-2 nights in the city.
Good location near damascus gate , friendly staff , good service
We were in a triple room which was a bit dingy and could do with a lick of paint , but it was clean enough
The best thing of this hotel is the location which is very near from the Old City and the local transportation is good. Staff are very kindly and friendly. Internet(Wireless was really good)!!
The room looks very old but clean enough at least. There was no kettle in the room so I went to the dinning room to ask for a pot of hot water, but the hot water was good enough coz they gave me a big thermos bottle.
